ACCBCF Mining Committee Advances Critical Minerals Value-Addition Framework at Abuja Roundtable

The ACCBCF Mining Committee hosted a technical symposium in Abuja focused on transitioning from raw mineral exports to local refining and component manufacturing. Representatives from geological agencies, environmental regulators, and private mining consortiums outlined the technical criteria needed for domestic smelters and battery-precursor processing facilities.

The committee emphasized that high ESG standards and localized workforce skilling are integral to all upcoming joint ventures. A dedicated mining investment sub-fund is being structured in collaboration with development finance institutions to provide risk-capital for mineral exploration and ecological restoration.
