Expo connects Nigerian businesses with Chinese manufacturers, equipment suppliers and potential investment partners

More than 250 Chinese manufacturers are expected in Lagos in November for the China Commodities Expo Nigeria 2026.

The three-day exhibition will hold from November 3 to 5 at the Landmark Centre, Lagos.

It will bring Chinese manufacturers together with Nigerian importers, distributors, investors and business leaders.

Focus on Equipment and Technology

The expo will run under the theme “Made in China. Made for Africa.” Exhibitors will showcase products across several sectors.

These include agricultural machinery, construction equipment, solar and photovoltaic products, electrical equipment, industrial machinery, automotive components, building materials and packaging equipment.

The wide range of products reflects a growing focus on equipment and technology in Nigeria-China trade. It also points to opportunities for stronger industrial supply chains.

Opportunities for Nigerian Businesses

The exhibition will allow Nigerian companies to meet manufacturers directly.

They can compare equipment, negotiate prices and explore distributorship opportunities.

Businesses can also discuss local assembly, technology transfer and manufacturing partnerships.

For Chinese manufacturers, Lagos provides access to Nigeria's large consumer and industrial market.

It also offers a gateway to the wider West African market.

Trade Ties Continue to Grow

The expo comes as economic ties between Nigeria and China continue to expand.

Nigeria-China bilateral trade reached about $18 billion in the first half of 2026, up roughly 35 per cent from the same period in 2025.

But the next stage of the relationship may depend on more than trade volumes.

It could depend on how much Chinese investment and technology support Nigeria's industrial growth.

This could mean moving from finished-product exports to equipment supply, local assembly, technology partnerships and manufacturing.

From Trade to Production

For Nigerian businesses, the November expo offers a chance to identify manufacturers and negotiate practical partnerships.

The larger goal is to attract investments that can support production within Nigeria.

The key question after the three-day event will not only be how many products were displayed.

It will be how many deals were signed, how many partnerships were created and how much “Made in China” can help strengthen “Made in Nigeria.”
